The objective here is to make the works of the principal perennialist thinkers accessible to a broader, non-specialist audience. I believe, as they did, that the collapse we witness in modern society is inevitable and stems from cutting man off from transcendence and locking him into the horizontal plane—a condition which is a function of the Enlightenment and much that preceded it, and almost everything that has come since.
To this end, I will produce detailed, paragraph-by-paragraph translations and / or commentaries on difficult philosophical texts, unpacking key terms and clarifying the underlying argument in accessible English. In process of this, over time, I will also build glossaries of the specialised terminology used by these writers, so that readers new to the tradition can find their bearings without constant recourse to external reference works.
At some point, physical books may be published, and at some point there will be a means of expressing interest in acquiring them on this site.
This project, perhaps unsurprisingly, is entirely unfunded. Support is appreciated, though at present methods are restricted to PayPal and cryptocurrency, with the latter being much easier for me to receive.
Nothing here is new. The ancients understood these truths long ago. The writers whose work I expand upon did not see themselves as original in the modern sense—they saw themselves as transmitters of a tradition, as custodians of a wisdom that had always existed. Accordingly, this project claims no novelty, only an attempt at fidelity to what has been said before and what deserves to be heard again.
This project is not intended for mass appeal. It will interest only a small number of readers. Quality, not quantity, has always been my focus, and that remains the case here.
If you want to know more about me, you can do that here and here.
